About Sopixcon

What is Sopixcon?

Sopixcon (SOPIXCON SAS) is a Senegalese industrial operator based in Dakar, founded by two industrial experts. The company works across three complementary areas: industrial services (testing, methods, supply chain), the collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), and the refurbishment of electronic equipment at levels N1, N2 and N3. Sopixcon positions itself as a long-term industrial partner rather than a one-off service provider.

Where does Sopixcon operate?

Sopixcon is based in Dakar (Liberté 6 Extension) and operates in Senegal and across the ECOWAS region. Equipment is collected directly from clients' sites. Sopixcon aims to become a leading regional hub for the telecom industry and the circular economy in Africa.

Who are Sopixcon's services for?

Sopixcon's services are designed for telecom operators, manufacturers and African companies that lack in-house industrial expertise in testing, methods or supply chain, or that need to manage end-of-life electronic equipment: obsolete IT fleets, telecom equipment, circuit boards and cables.

WEEE collection and recycling

How do you recycle electronic waste (WEEE) in Senegal?

In Senegal, Sopixcon handles the entire WEEE recycling chain in four stages: on-site collection, sorting, data destruction, then packaging to export standards before recovery by certified partner smelters. The process complies with Senegalese regulations and the Basel Convention. To get started, simply describe your needs: Sopixcon replies within 48 hours.

What equipment does Sopixcon collect?

Sopixcon collects all end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment: cables (copper, plastics), circuit boards, obsolete IT fleets (desktop units, laptops, servers, printers), telecom equipment and peripherals. Equipment that can still be repaired may be sent for refurbishment rather than recycling.

Is Sopixcon's WEEE recycling compliant with regulations?

Yes. Sopixcon relies on its WEEE accreditation from the DEEC (Senegal's Directorate of the Environment and Classified Establishments), its export authorisation under the Basel Convention and HS 8549 customs compliance. Every item is tracked by its serial number, from collection to its final destination.

What happens to electronic equipment that cannot be repaired?

Equipment that cannot be repaired is shipped to approved treatment plants, where the materials are recovered. Before shipment, its storage media (hard drives, SSDs, flash memory) are removed and physically destroyed in Senegal, at Sopixcon's facilities. No equipment leaves the country with data on it.

Data and security

Is the data on my equipment destroyed?

Yes, always. Sopixcon never accesses the content of storage media. Repairable equipment is reset to factory settings without its content being viewed; for equipment that cannot be repaired, the storage media is physically destroyed. No data is copied, extracted or kept. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Do I receive proof that my data has been destroyed?

Yes. For each item, Sopixcon issues an individual certificate of wiping or destruction, linked to the serial number of the equipment and its storage media. It states the operation performed, its date and the technician responsible, and can be used for your internal audit.

Should I back up my data before collection?

Yes. The wiping and destruction carried out by Sopixcon are irreversible: no data can be recovered once an item has been taken in. Back up any data you want to keep before collection.

Does my business information remain confidential?

Yes. Sopixcon signs a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) with every client. The company also guarantees its commercial independence: two separate entities, with no exchange of information between competing clients. Every team member signs an individual confidentiality undertaking.

Refurbishment

Can faulty electronic equipment be repaired?

Often, yes. A lot of equipment set aside as out of service can be brought back into operation. Sopixcon diagnoses, repairs and upgrades it to industrial standards before it returns to your fleet or is resold. Extending the life of equipment generally costs less than replacing it.

What is the difference between refurbishment levels N1, N2 and N3?

The three levels reflect the depth of the work. N1: cleaning, functional testing and software update. N2: in-depth diagnosis, repair and replacement of components (BGA, QFN). N3: precision calibration, circuit-level repair and certification.

Industrial services

What industrial services does Sopixcon offer?

Sopixcon offers three service lines. Testing: test coverage assessment, setup of test benches, automated flashing and calibration procedures. Methods: reorganisation of the workshop's physical flow, unit traceability by scanning, real-time KPI dashboard and ESD compliance (IEC 61340). Supply chain: flow mapping, stock levels, supplier performance, logistics costs and returns management.

How can I tell if my test coverage is sufficient?

A test audit carried out by Sopixcon assesses test coverage, bench robustness, the false-negative rate and gaps against JEDEC, ISO, IPC and IEC standards. You get a precise picture of where you stand and a costed action plan.

What industrial standards does Sopixcon apply?

Sopixcon works to IPC standards and to IEC 61340 on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD). ISO 9001 certification is targeted within 18 months.

Working together and contact

How does a collaboration with Sopixcon work?

A collaboration with Sopixcon follows four steps: a one-hour discovery meeting, with no commitment; a qualifying on-site audit; a findings review with a costed commercial proposal; then the kick-off of the first project or first flow.

How much does a Sopixcon service cost?

Every service is covered by a costed proposal, drawn up after an on-site audit, because the cost depends on volume, equipment type and level of intervention. The first discovery meeting is free and with no commitment. Every project includes quantified targets written into the contract.

How do I contact Sopixcon, and how quickly will I get a reply?

Sopixcon replies to every request within 48 hours. You can use the contact form, write to contact@sopixcon.com or call +221 77 717 81 26.
